A Milestone in Literacy: Hebron Elementary Recognized at State House
On April 8, 2026, Hebron Elementary School’s exceptional commitment to literacy was honored during a recognition ceremony at the Indiana State House. Principal Mr. Prikkel (R) and Superintendent Dr. Brooks (L) represented the district to celebrate a major milestone: surpassing Indiana’s statewide goal of 95% third-grade reading proficiency for the 2025 academic year.

Hebron Elementary didn’t just meet the state’s target—they soared past it. With an impressive 98.7% passing rate on the 2025 IREAD-3 assessment, the school secured the #1 ranking for school districts in Northwest Indiana.
